I was waiting on a hillside for the evening light to improve, so I could take a shot of the town of Moscow, Idaho from Paradise Ridge south of town. It was pretty dark and I was beginning to think I wouldn't get anything good that day so I started to look more closely at the wheat stalks right at my feet. (A good lesson when looking for pictures--look at everything in your field of view, not only what you went there for!) The wheat was an interesting combination of green and gold tones--right in the transition between spring and summer. When I got home, I saw that the the dim light made color and brightness of the image kind of murky, so I played with it in Photoshop, adding filters and painterly effects, until I ended up with this enhanced image that I really like.
