"Canola Country"

"Canola Country"

Brilliant expanses of yellow canola fields against a contrasting blue sky are always striking to see and a great picture taking opportunity. Canola is a low acid rapeseed plant grown primarily in regions of Canada as well as in the Inland Northwest. The yellow flowers produce pods containing seeds that are crushed to make many products including edible Canola oil and industrial lubricants.

The sea of bright yellow canola against the blue sky makes an interesting and crispy-clean contrast to this weathered gray barn. The barn has since collapsed under the weight of too many winter snows, so I'm glad I have this picture of it taken a few years ago near Potlatch, Idaho.

This image may be ordered as an unmounted photograph or the photograph may be ordered mounted and double matted.

The matted versions of this print come with a cream colored top mat over an avocado green liner mat.

Please see the prints for information regarding photographs and alternative matting options.
